Role Summary
CNK Khandwala & Associates is seeking a highly competent and proactive Chartered Accountant (CA)
with 3+ years of post-qualification experience to join our Direct Tax practice in Ahmedabad.
In this role, you will lead direct tax compliances, handle income tax assessments, manage tax audits,
and provide advisory services to a diverse portfolio of corporate and high-net-worth clients. We are
looking for a detailed-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, client management
capabilities, and leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assessment & Litigation
 Draft comprehensive replies to show-cause notices, scrutiny assessment notices, and
questionnaires issued by the Income Tax Department (including Faceless Assessments).
 Prepare and file appeals before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) [CIT(A)] and
assist Senior Partners in ITAT matter preparations.
 Manage direct tax litigation lifecycles, keeping clients updated on proceedings and timelines.
2. Tax Audits & Compliance
 Lead tax audit engagements (Form 3CD, 3CA/3CB) for corporate entities, firms, and
individuals.
 Review and sign off on income tax return (ITR) filings, TDS returns, and tax computation
workings.
 Ensure timely compliance with all statutory timelines, advance tax calculations, and deferred
tax workings.
3. Advisory & Consulting
 Provide actionable tax advisory and opinion letters on complex transactions, capital gains,
corporate restructurings, and international tax considerations.
 Identify tax-saving strategies and risk mitigation frameworks for clients within statutory
boundaries.
 Monitor key updates in the Income Tax Act, judicial precedents, and regulatory notifications,
advising clients on impact assessments.
4. Client & Team Management
 Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building long-term working
relationships.
 Supervise, mentor, and review the work of articles, junior CAs, and audit staff.
 Manage engagement deliverables, billing, and resource allocation efficiently.
Required Candidate Profile
 Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a valid ICAI membership.
 Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience dedicated to Direct Taxation within
a reputable mid-sized or large CA firm.
 Domain Knowledge: In-depth working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, tax audit
procedures, faceless assessment proceedings, and judicial rulings.
 Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tax software (e.g., CompuTax, Winman, or
equivalent), MS Excel, Tally/ERP systems, and the e-Filing Portal.
 Soft Skills: Exceptional drafting, analytical, and verbal communication skills; ability to
articulate tax law clearly to clients
