Job Description:
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
  • Category Management: Execute end-to-end procurement for Raw Materials (e.g., steel, sheets, forgings), BOP (Bought-Out Parts), and Non-BOM items (MRO spares, consumables, tools, and plant services).
  • Cost Optimization: Conduct clean-sheet costing, market analysis, and commercial negotiations to achieve target cost reductions.
  • Material Planning: Align procurement schedules with the production plan (PPC) to maintain optimal inventory levels, implementing ABC and Min-Max analysis to mitigate line-stoppage risks.
Vendor Development & Management
  • Supplier Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-performing suppliers to build a resilient supply chain ecosystem.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews tracking Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) metrics.
  • Relationship Management: Resolve day-to-day supplier issues related to payments, quality rejections (Red Bin tracking), and delivery deviations.
SAP Execution & Documentation
  • ERP Operations: Proficiently manage the SAP MM module to generate Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and Outline Agreements.
  • Compliance: Ensure accurate tax structures (GST), commercial terms, and company compliance policies are maintained across all documentation.
  • Invoice Verification: Coordinate closely with the Finance and Stores teams for GRN (Goods Receipt Note) verification, invoice approvals, and the resolution of debit notes.
Candidate Profile & Prerequisites
  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of core procurement experience within the automotive, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAP (MM Module), Microsoft Excel, and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Core Competencies: Strong commercial negotiation, costing knowledge, understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining), and analytical skills.
