Job Overview

Orbit Global HR Consultants LLP is hiring an experienced Service Engineer in Hyderabad for a technical service role involving laboratory instruments, electronic weighing systems, and industrial automation equipment. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in equipment servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and customer support.

Candidates with hands-on experience servicing electronic weighing instruments, laboratory equipment, PLCs, and HMIs will be preferred. Experience working with brands such as Mettler Toledo, Sartorius, Shimadzu, Ishida, Essae, or similar equipment manufacturers will be an added advantage.

This position is suitable for technically skilled professionals who can independently handle Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) visits, equipment repair, installation, product demonstrations, and customer technical discussions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Equipment Servicing and Maintenance

• Perform scheduled Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) visits at customer locations.

• Carry out preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, servicing, and repair of laboratory instruments and electronic weighing systems.

• Diagnose equipment faults and identify the root causes of technical issues.

• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and instrumentation-related problems.

• Ensure equipment operates accurately, safely, and efficiently.

• Maintain service reports, maintenance records, and customer visit documentation.

2. Installation and Commissioning

• Install and commission electronic weighing instruments, laboratory equipment, and related technical products at customer sites.

• Conduct initial equipment checks, calibration-related activities, and functional testing as applicable to the equipment.

• Ensure equipment is installed according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.

• Explain operating procedures and basic maintenance requirements to customers.

• Provide post-installation support and resolve technical issues during commissioning.

3. Technical Troubleshooting and Repair

• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in equipment.

• Handle troubleshooting of weighing systems, laboratory instruments, and associated control systems.

• Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), where applicable.

• Coordinate with the internal technical team or manufacturer for complex equipment issues.

• Recommend suitable corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.

• Ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.

4. Sales and Pre-Sales Technical Support

• Support the sales team during product demonstrations and customer meetings.

• Visit prospective and existing customers to understand their technical requirements.

• Explain product features, technical specifications, applications, and benefits.

• Recommend suitable products based on customer applications and operational requirements.

• Participate in technical discussions and assist the sales team in addressing customer queries.

• Support product trials, demonstrations, and installation-related activities when required.

5. Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain professional relationships with existing customers.

• Respond to customer service requests and technical queries promptly.

• Conduct customer visits for servicing, repairs, installations, and technical consultations.

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service activities.

• Ensure timely resolution of service complaints and escalate critical issues when necessary.

6. Travel and Field Service

• Travel to customer locations within Hyderabad and other assigned areas as required.

• Manage scheduled service visits, AMC commitments, installations, and emergency service calls.

• Be willing to travel for customer support and technical assignments.

• Use a two-wheeler for local customer visits and field service activities.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics Engineering

• M.Tech in Electronics Engineering

Candidates with relevant technical qualifications and practical experience in electronic instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or industrial weighing systems will be preferred.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a service engineer, field service engineer, electronics service engineer, or instrumentation service role.

• Hands-on experience in servicing laboratory instruments, electronic weighing equipment, or industrial weighing systems.

• Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation.

• Familiarity with PLC and HMI systems will be an advantage.

• Ability to understand technical specifications, equipment manuals, and electrical or electronic diagrams.

• Good customer-handling, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently at customer sites and manage field service assignments.

Preferred Industry and Brand Experience

Candidates with experience working on products or equipment from the following brands will be preferred:

• Mettler Toledo

• Sartorius

• Shimadzu

• Ishida

• Essae

• Other manufacturers of electronic weighing instruments, laboratory equipment, industrial scales, and instrumentation systems

Relevant experience with similar products and equipment is also acceptable.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 3 years of relevant technical service experience.

• Age: 25 years or above.

• Diploma, B.Tech, or M.Tech in Electronics Engineering.

• Must possess a two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.

• Must be comfortable with field visits and work-related travel.

• Must be willing to work full-time from the Hyderabad location.

• Candidates should have a customer-focused attitude and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems independently.

Salary and Benefits

• Annual CTC: Up to ₹6,00,000 per annum.

• Salary is negotiable and may be higher within the hiring budget for candidates with strong technical expertise and relevant industry experience.

• Five-day working week.

• Working hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
