Job Description:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • Create and maintain spatial and non-spatial databases
    • Performing data munging and cleaning to convert data into its desired form.
  • Prepare maps
    • Creating "shapefiles" to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
    • Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
    • Converting physical maps into a digital form for computer usage.
    • Producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data, including store locations, POIs, transport network, sales data etc.
  • Analyzing Maps
    • Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
    • Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.

 

SKILL SET

  • Experience with mapping tools such as ARCGIS, Mapinfo, QGIS.
  • High degree of proficiency with Excel, Access and other database tools.
  • Added advantage proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical mindset.

 Reporting Into: Head - Marketing Planning  

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors in any stream (degrees pertaining to geography, planning, surveying shall be preferred)
  • Diploma in GIS/ Spatial analytics
