Dredger Operator

·         Primary Objective of Dredge Operator to directs workers placing shore anchors and cables, laying additional pipes from dredge to shore, and pumping water from pontoons.

·         Lowers anchor pole to verify depth of excavation, using winch, or scans depth gauge to determine depth of excavation.

·         Moves levers to position dredge for excavation, engage hydraulic pump, raise and lower suction boom, and control rotation of cutterhead.

·         Starts and stops engines to operate equipment.

·         Starts power winch that draws in or lets out cable to change position of dredge, or pulls in and lets out cable manually.

·         Ensure adherence to Standards of ISO (ISO 14001, ISO 9001 – 2000, HACCP, SQF) whichever applicable.

·         Implement “Cost Reduction Initiative”, continuously, in the unit and all aspects of work.

·         Use BaaN to its full capacity vis-avis, and if necessary use other Software packages, for efficient and effective operations of the unit.
