Senior Officer (Breeding Program)

Job Description:

Objective:                                                                                                                                                     

This position is of a senior aquaculture specialist for individual family for Genetics (PL to brood-stock rearing) daily sampling, data input, stocking, harvests and report to supervisor on daily progress.

Qualification/Knowledge:                                                                                                                                                     

• University Degree (minimum bachelor’s degree) in at least one of the following areas: Aquaculture/Marine Biology/Fisheries or similar studies.
• Specialized in Breeding Program.
• Well versed with computer skills in Office Packages like spread sheets, power point, word processing and reports etc.
• 4 years relevant experience is preferred for all applicants, but not less than 2 years is mandatory.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Preparation of tanks and filling seawater as required for rearing.
• Performing all daily activities feeding, ABW sampling, water exchange, water parameters readings and bio floc readings.
• Daily monitoring and data input in the computer.
• Preparation of symbiotic or nitrifying bacteria.
• Weighing of dry feeds and feeding. Counting and feeding of harvested algae and artemia.
• Preparing of daily water chemistry and microbiology samples for lab as when required.
• Acclimatization of naupli, PLs and counting as per procedure.
• Close coordination with supervisor for smooth operations.
• Performing Brood-stock animal health and wet mount analysis.
• Implement company's bio-security, hygiene and good husbandry practices in the section.
• Readiness to work extended duty hours, different shifts, on-call availability at site are expected
• Any other duties assigned by the management from time to time.
