Job Description:
A CNC operator's job description includes programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture parts according to specifications. Key duties involve loading and unloading materials, performing routine maintenance, inspecting finished products for quality, and troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure smooth and efficient production. 
 
Key responsibilities
    • Programming and setup: Setting up the machine with the correct tools, loading and running pre-written programs, or writing new ones. This also involves interpreting blueprints and converting instructions into machine commands.
    • Machine operation: Monitoring the machine as it runs, making necessary adjustments, and executing test runs to ensure precision.
    • Quality control: Inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and making adjustments to correct any deviations.

 

  • Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machines, and identifying and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving problems with the machine or process, like programming errors or tool wear.
  • Safety and compliance: Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Record keeping: Keeping detailed records of machine actions and production. 

 

 
Required skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with computer software and programming.
  • High attention to detail.
