Job Description:

Job Description

She/he will play a key role in Accounts and procurement management and ensure that staff and management receive high quality, professional and responsive services. S/he will also implement financial and procurement management policies, procedures and systems and ensure compliance with corporate and project standards as well as maintain oversight of day-to-day accounts and procurement activities.

 Roles and responsibilities:

 

  1. Manage all financial and procurement management activities for the company including bank account and petty cash reconciliations; accounts payable; sourcing and contracting of suppliers; review and verification of invoices; data entry into accounting systems; fund transfers , bank, EFT, cheque and cash payments.
  2. Establish and manage systems for cash and payments to staff including, expense claims and petty cash.
  3. Assist with the management and implementation of payments.
  4. Assist with strategic financial management activities including annual budget development, financial planning and cash flowing, and financial reporting.
  5. Develop project-level financial and procurement management policies and procedures, manage roll-out and oversight compliance, reporting and periodic review.
  6. Keep informed about taxation laws and work with senior colleagues to ensure the company is tax compliant.
  7. Provide expert guidance in the costing of personnel, activities and operations.
  8. Organise and maintain comprehensive financial and procurement files and ensure all recording is compliant with audit, corporate and client requirements.
  9. Manage purchasing and procurement activities including supplier management and ensure value for money.
  10. Ensure all salary payments are accurate and timely.
  11. Support senior management to establish and implement policies and procedures for fraud control, anti-corruption and anti-bribery.
  12. Other duties as required.

 

The applicant should be atleast 35 years of age

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or equivalent discipline related to the roles and functions of the position.
  2. Five to eight years’ experience with financial and procurement management of large, complex organizations.
  3. Demonstrated high-level experience in the implementation of financial and procurement management systems including the ability to operate accounting software, ERP, cash books, cash transfers, and different purchasing systems (cash, cheques, internet banking, purchase orders, contracts).
  4. Demonstrated sound experience and solid practical understanding of VAT, WHT, income tax, and other taxes.
  5. Demonstrated record of paying attention to detail and an impeccable record of working in senior positions of trust with responsibility for financial affairs and cash handling.
  6. Demonstrated high-level teamwork abilities and an ability to work in teams in a cross-cultural environment.
