Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or Equivalent professional qualification.

• 8- 12 years experience in design of Electrical facilities.
• Conversant with International Design Codes of Practice, including American, British Standards and Saudi Aramco standards and SABIC standards.
• Hands on experience in electrical design for oil and gas, refinery facilities, skids & fabrication.
• Develop Electrical Area classification drawings based on international standards and implementation in the design
• Conversant with design codes and experience in the design of Electrical systems
• Conversant with industry standard software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Cad Worx, SP3D, Navisworks review and others
• Experience in design and preparation of specification of cable ladder/ tray systems, earthing, lightning protection, motor control centers, equipment grounding, bus ducts, Power distribution system, Switchgear, Switchrack, Variable Frequency drives, UPS / battery system, capacitor bank, pump control, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and Solar Power system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design, coordination, and execution of all Electrical activities on the project.
• Prepare material takeoff to support project estimation.
• Coordinating with clients, subcontractors, project manager and Other Discipline Engineers.
• Prepare, Review and approval of all Electrical material submittal and shop/fabrication drawings.
• Prepare, review and checking job specifications and data sheets in accordance with project standards requirements and contractual requirements for purchase of materials and equipment.
• Technical bid evaluation and recommend technically compliant offers for PO procurement
• Vendor document review and implement vendor data in design package
• Prepare, Review and checking electrical calculations and power system studies.
• Design of facilities as per project specification, Contract scope, applicable codes and standards.
• Develop design drawings, documents, and study reports.
• Review design deliverables and participate design review meetings with client.
• Perform discipline check on the deliverables developed to ensure quality.
• Coordinate with design team to carryout design activities
• Coordinate with site team, provide technical support and clarification to resolve queries during construction.
• Technical evaluation of design packages, verify and develop Bill of quantities
