- Responsible for preparing accurate and complete Management Accounts to Management for informed decision-making. The cost accountant shall ensure that management is provided with accurate quantitative costing, advice on Liquidity and cash now management Of the business and compliance with tax regulations
- Cost accountant Will be responsible for determining actual costs of' manufacturing. scrutinizing associated company expenses,analyzing profitability and preparing the company budget.
REPORTING TO THE CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER , THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL;
- Prepare and present Management Accounts following best practice.
- Maintain the cost accounting system. documents and records of the company.
- Carry Out cost-volume-ptom (CVP) analysis.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Maintaining standard costs of raw materials. packaging. machines and "rushed products.
- Prepare and on Prices of New products and price revisions.
- Carryout Variance analysis.
- Establish costs in business such as administration. labour, shipping, etc.
- Develop and maintain accurate cost.ng systems in relation to labour. production methods and material supply.
- Prepare and complete internal Audet costs.
- Class"y and assign budget codes for proper posting Of entries.
- Provide management with reports on performance reports and advising Management on appropriate Costing approaches bases on Financial dela.
- Assist in Stock reconciliations cycle counts/stock taking
- Project Appraisal and advise Management after systematic project evaluation,
- Inventory Management. making adjustments to costs and inventory units where necessary.
- assets management continuously updating the Fixed asset register
- Keep track of Change in legislation especially Tax legislation and any other and the related impact on product prices and restrictions.
- Any other duties assigned from time to lime by the supervisor or Management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Business. or a Related Field.
- Full Professional qualification of ACCA or CPA is s musti.
- At least 3 years work experience as aCost Accountant in preferably a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures. Including the Generally Accepted Accounting.
- Principles (GAAP)v) Hands-On experience with accounting software will be an added advantage.
Required skills:
- Budgeting, Financial Knowledge experience.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including V look-ups and pivot tables.
- Experience with general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Excellent Interpersonal Communication skills.
- Leadership and Managerial Skills.
