PROJECT MANAGER - Steel

Job Description:

To improve the company’s operational efficiency and effectiveness by completing site projects within scheduled time. Responsible for day to day supervise of allocated sites and ensure smooth running of variousprojects/contracts (Steel Structure projects)of the company on time. 

Applicants should have exposure/competence in the following:

• Experience in supervising small/medium/big size steel structure project (Commercial building structure, warehouse, industrial projects, EOT Crane projectetc.).
• Apart from steel structure project, he should also able to handle Aluminium cladding and Aluminum (partition, doors, window) work on site.
• Able to execute the project smoothly &resolve design issues, Procurement issues, Production issues, site related issues/complaints in a timely and professional way on site and any big issue to bring to his in-charge on timely basis – considering time, cost& Workmanship as an important parameter.
• Work to be carried out by company employee as well as contracted workers – need to have foresight to hire them suitably as per requirement.
• Leadership skills to guide the team working under him.
• Proven track record in recruitment, training, working with and growing teams to solve specific challenges and accomplish task.
• To train and motivate team to achieve qualitative standards while following Health &Safety at site with cost controlling mentality.
• Should be self-confident with analytical mind who believes in perfection.
• To have professionally letter, email writing skill
• To send letter, Work schedule, any approval to client on time.
• To have knowledge to make running bill, steel measurement sheet, Steel reconciliation etc.
• Hardworking nature.

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Required Qualification & Work Experience:

• A minimum of 7-15 years of experience with at least 10years’ experience on similar position; preferably from PEB (pre-engineered building) industry.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Age 27-40 years
• Should be able to manage a team of in house workers, sub-contractors and 4-6 sites at a time.
• He should have good knowledge in Drawing, Different grade of steel, Iron sheet etc.
• Candidate should have knowledge/aptitude for reading and understanding the basic term of contracts, legal complain at site, &strong follow up of contractual obligations.
• Should have experience of handling sub-contractor, payment control, bill approval of sub-contractors and should also possess knowledge of preparing BOQ/BOM, Bill preparation and submission to clients, attending client meetings on site & off site.
• Basic knowledge of Computer (Word/excel/mails).
• Candidate should have good knowledge of MS Project
• Candidate should have experience in dealing with consultants, architects and engineers.
• Candidate should have knowledge/aptitude for learning and training subordinates and colleagues & should devote time in understanding new things and implementing them to improve the working environment of the department and company for future growth of self and company (Like R&D, ready to upgrade yourself, learning new technologies etc.)
• He should be well versed with quality measures to put in place, excellent record keeping of approved samples, quality material sourcing and quality workman ship.
• Africa working experience is preferable.
