Job Description:

 

 

We are looking for a vendor development engineer to source, negotiate, and buy goods, services, and materials to meet an organization's operational requirements. You will be researching entrepreneurial companies to identify potential suppliers and sources, assessing new and existing supplier capabilities to meet cost, product, capacity, and quality, and driving improvements using lean methodologies. You will also perform benchmarking studies to determine future trends and best practices.

 

Job Responsibilities:

1) Perform supplier capability assessments as related to quality systems, process controls, manufacturing capabilities, and

2) Perform Supplier on-site assessments and assistance visits to improve Supplier performance and achieve the corporation’s objectives in the areas of Quality, Cost and Responsiveness

3) Ensure cost, schedule and supply chain continuity conditions are met in support of quality, delivery, cost, inventory, and innovation

4) Handle Mumbai market where materials like steel plates, bearings, raw materials, gearboxes, motors, pumps, rubber items, bearings, nuts, and bolts are available.

5) Should have good contacts in and around Mumbai for locating vendors, to outsource machining and fabrication jobs.

 

 Job Qualification:

1) Experience of working as a vendor development engineer & inspection experience of mechanical components

2) Good Communication and Negotiation skills

3) Experience must be in the machine-building industry.
