Job Description:
Key Accountability:
- To perform internal and external proficiency testing with lab Techs.
- To analyse lab needs from training , staff and equipment needs.
- Review and sign off on employee timecards.
- Yearly chemical monitoring of lab techs.
- Investigate deviations , review batch sheets ,etc, approval of deviation if warranted.
- Manage hold and near miss program .
- Represent the lab at all production and management meetings.
- Fill in for the QA manager and sanitation supervisor as needed .
- Troubleshoot , maintenance and repair of lab equipment.
- Enter daily hazardous waste into master data base.
- Collect and send samples as per customer specific requirements.
- Schedule preventive maintenance for all lab equipment and sensitive production equipment.
- To update specification books as specification changes.
- Write new procedures and update procedure books.
- Participate in customer and third part audits.
- Determine lab equipment needs , write capital requests when needed.
- Production in line paperwork review , product loss and product approval in quality assurance managers’ absence .
Person Specification
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering , Biochemistry or equivalent.
- Training certificate.
- Minimum of 9 years relevant work experience, 2 years of which are spent in a supervisory capacity..
