Supply Quality Leader

Job Summary :

To support assigned suppliers to meet and/or exceed the quality performance standards and our customer's product quality expectations by investigating, analyzing, and resolving supplier quality problems.

To lead in all supplier qualification endeavors including on-site supplier quality audits and supplier technical reviews.

To drive the systematic quality process in the NPI phase to meet and/or exceed Supplier PPAP "First Time Right" metrics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES of Supply Quality Engineer

Supplier Qualification, Approval and Maintenance

• Lead on-site audits focusing on both quality systems and technical processes

• Conduct technical reviews at the part level to access the supplier's capability to take part

• Drive post-audit corrective actions

NPI - Part development

• Drive systematic Quality Processes to meet project timeline and PPAP requirements

• Help supplier to exceed "Fit, Form, Function" as well as reliability requirements while working with IBCC purchasing, manufacturing and project engineering teams

Supplier Quality Management & Supplier Process improvement

• Continuously monitor and improve supplier quality performance

• Champion problem-solving and root-cause analysis activities with suppliers to avoid repeat failures

• Drive a "Zero" defect approach within the supply base and strive to exceed the "Zero PPM" quality level

Supplier Warranty Reduction

• Work with Technical service and supplier recovery team to gather, analyze and action all field issues related to assigned suppliers

• Lead required problem-solving efforts to eliminate warranty failures

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Required Qualifications of the Supply Quality Engineer:

• A minimum of 8 years experience in quality management in the manufacturing industry involved in casting/forging / machined components subassemblies etc.

• Medium to a high level of expertise within Casting and Forging Commodity

• Expertise in inspection techniques: Knowledge of visual, 2D & 3D dimensional inspection should have knowledge of international inspection standards and specifications for visual, and dimensional checks for the cast, forged and machined components including limits fit and tolerances, etc. Good knowledge in the inspection of steel castings specifically in cast / machined condition.

• ISO 9001-2008 quality management system & mastery over quality control, and problem-solving techniques for casting, and forging components. Knowledge of key failure modes for castings and forging processes, problem diagnosis and resolution, standards and tolerance for each process

• Understand a variety of casting processes including hot and cold form, permanent and semipermanent, investment and die casting, ductile iron, Grey cast iron, and heat treatment processes

Preferred Qualifications of the Supply Quality Engineer:

• Able to review the gating design and potential improvements including the sample casting process, Familiarity with tooling design (mold & pattern), and recommend design modifications or equipment repair

• Experience working with customers, suppliers, leading supply chain quality improvement efforts

• Experience driving cross-functional business processes

• International exposure and/or experience desirable

Education of the Supply Quality Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or manufacturing, advanced "Metallurgy" knowledge is highly desirable

• Advanced Oral/Written English communication skills
