Job Description:

Purpose of the Job

Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives
Develop strategies and guide and lead team in achieving them
Develop plans to identify risks and standard practices for timely corrective actions
Prepare, approve, monitor and review specifications for incoming materials, finished products and packaging materials to ensure compliance with Quality Standards
Develop and monitor the QC management system
Prepare Foundry QA manual control and supervision of all amendments and revisions
Control and distribute quality documentation
Monitor all quality related activities on the project and initiate improvement actions, if any
Develop short term action plan to achieve the KPIs along with long term action plans for production Quality Control
Identify and plan use and introduction of technology to improve the processes
Review and monitor the status of production QC plans at monthly frequency with the concerned Personnel and on weekly basis with internal team
Monitor the performance of plans, identify gaps and develop plans to bridge the gaps which is an ongoing process
Support production, capture their requirements from the shop floor on daily basis and coordinating with the respective departments for closing the issues
Enforce an active Critical to Quality (CTQ) management for production
Drive process improvement projects for CTQ parameters effectiveness
Resolve issues related to quality of Incoming Raw Materials, In process, Finished Goods
Confer with supplier or Sub-contractor for clarifying the technical issues with regards to complaints
Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints (internal & external) and ensure corrective and preventive actions in case of internal rejections
Monitor the control plans, OCAPs' (Out of Control Action Plans) effectiveness by regular FMEAs (Failure mode effect analysis)
Actively participate in resolving the chronic problems/recurring defects/pending problems
Deploy uniform quality criteria for all production lines, Contractors inspection, outsourced production facilities too
Ensure awareness of employees on quality parameters at the shop floor, and to the external agencies whenever required
Monitor safety of quality team
Monitor and ensure production inspection activities
Handle customer complaints and ensure they are closed on time with satisfaction
Monitor maintenance and calibration of all equipments
Ensure ISO documentation related quality function is complete and updated
Ensure product/process change and release on time
Coordinate with quality inspections with all the sub contractors and vendors for all non destructive testing
Coordinate with the customer's representative on all quality matters
Coordinate all receipt inspections
Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to subcontractors
Verify that the quality related activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
Participate in the internal and external quality audits
Ensure all quality control documentation is complied and competed for as-built hand over through the QC turnover engineer
Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
Review the customers specification and undertake relevant training to the QC inspector
Monitor the implementation of the approved QC Plan
Complete and coordinate the approval of the QC technical submittals to the customer
Elaborate inspection and test programs
Continuously monitor the Org. Structure for Department and do course correction as and when required
Ensure obtain 'Right' Manpower with the support of HR Department
Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor and review the Performance of Department and take appropriate action for improvement
Participate in establishing key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals
Develop Success Plan for the critical positions in the department and initiate timely action for smooth execution
Develop subordinates by providing them opportunities for development
Provide feedback to Team on problems or needs
Promote a culture of sharing and team working for superior performance

Educational QualificationDME / B.E in MechanicalPost Graduate Degree in Business Administration or Operations / Strategic Operations / Metallurgy / MechanicalYears of Experience15 years (*Refer Grade Structure)Experience of Production or Quality in Foundry or related industry segmentKnowledgeKnowledge of Foundry Industry with strong base in production and quality. Should have up-to-date information of Quality and Production standards and compliances. Knowledge of metal casting processes and procedures, design and calibrations. Able to detect defects with expertise and providing corrective actions thereby focusing on long-term business goals of the business by process improvement.SkillsQuality orientation, Dept. leadership, Influencing without authority, Delegation, Mentoring, Interpersonal and communication skills, Solution and problem-solving orientation, Ability to build trust and collaborate with others at all levels within the organization and operate in a fast paced environment, Comfort with ambiguity, Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, Technology awareness, Result Orientation and Attention to Detail.
