Job Description:
A Welder, Mechanical job involves interpreting blueprints and designs to join metal parts using various welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to create or repair metal structures and equipment. Key responsibilities include material preparation (cutting, grinding), equipment operation and maintenance, quality inspection, and adherence to safety standards while working in different positions (flat, vertical, overhead). This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Interpret technical documents:Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics to understand project requirements and weld locations.

Material preparation:Accurately measure, cut, and prepare metal components for welding.

Welding:Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welders) to fuse metals and create strong, precise joints.

Quality control:Inspect welded surfaces and structures for defects to ensure they meet specifications and industry standards.

Equipment maintenance:Perform routine checks and maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure proper working order and safety.

Safety compliance:Adhere to established safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe work environment.

Assembly and installation:May perform complex mechanical installations of piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding) and experience with welding equipment.
- Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and mechanical knowledge.
- Blueprint Reading: The ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical documents.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional precision and attention to detail for accurate welding and quality inspection.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work for long periods, lift heavy materials, and possess excellent physical stamina.
