Sr Accountant for a Manufacturing Company in East Africa

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling day to activity for Accounts & Administration. On a regular basis, they communicate and enforce Company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To ensure day to day accounting.
2. Documentation and filing of all statutory, accounting documents.
3. Keeping checks and balances in order.
4. Making and presenting MIS, Periodic and Adhoc reports on time to management.
5. Ensuring cost ascertainment and control are in effect.
6. Complete finalization of accounts & preparation of financial statements, P&L reports.
7. Resolving discrepancies, assisting various tax returns/audits.
8. Should be well-versed with Tally, Excel, Accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, Dealing with distributors etc.
9. Ensuring software data up to date and make best use of software data for analysis.
10. Continuous improvement of financial accounting systems.
11. Formulating and implementing financial policies in coordination with corporate team.
12. Develop banking relationship for credit/ instalment facility to members.
13. Processing of staff salary and incentive by stipulated dates.
14. Inventory management.
15. Processing purchase requirement of the store.
16. Processing all vendors, statutory and utility payments.
17. Getting internal audit done on timely basis.
18. Correct the deficiencies pointed out in internal audit report.
19. Ensuing all statutory returns compliances on time.

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Required Candidate profil

• Industry - Export/Manufacturing/FMCG is a plus

• Extensive Tally 9.0 and Microsoft Office Knowledge and should have experience in the relevant field of 3-5 years +
• Should be comfortable for Relocation
