Automation Technician

As automation Technician , you will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production lines, Responsible for  troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation,  will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience and education in engineering, robotics, and production automation.

1.      Lead automation engineering staff assuring compliance, equipment uptime, and development of staff

2.      Responsible for maintenance (planned and unplanned) for equipment supporting manufacturing

3.      Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process

4.      Work with other departments to improve equipment functionality, throughput, and uptime of equipment

5.      Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components

6.      Educate Operations personnel on proper operation and care of equipment.

7.      Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality

8.      Periodically report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status

9.      Establishing and maintaining effective communications with production, quality and engineering

10.   Oversees all installations of electronic devices throughout the production processes and factory, ensuring conformance to specifications

11.   Provides immediate response to equipment malfunctions

12.   Provide field support of instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure), well controls (RTU and PLC), communications network

13.   Manage the day-to-day activities, goal setting, performance management, and development of the team;

14.   Ability to use PLC's and PC controls, including using PLC for troubleshooting

15.   Experience in the application of AC and DC motors and controls

16.   Check the operation of machines and trouble-shoots electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic equipment and automation problems according to manufacturer's specifications or best method practices

17.   Modify and rebuild manufacturing equipment to meet new machine requirements or production demands.

18.   Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve any electrical and automation issues.
