Responsibilities for mechanical manager
  • Maintain a centralized Mechanical Integrity database
  • Maintain, review, and track action items
  • Develop, maintain, and publish on a monthly basis metrics and summary reports on the Asset Integrity SharePoint site
  • Maintain regulatory and company compliance while achieving incremental improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of asset integrity processes
  • Evaluate industry best practices and new technologies to improve Mechanical Integrity
  • Collaborate with Company Welding SMEs and Metallurgists industry peers to develop standards and ensure best practices are being utilized
  • Ensure Operating Areas and Asset Integrity groups have a voice in mechanical integrity processes through collaboration, cultivating field relationships, and sharing ideas to improve
  • Plan, communicate, and execute in accordance with expense and capital forecasting both for Asset Integrity budget and budgets for individual company franchises
  • Promote asking what we can do for the Operating Areas and E&C, providing options with consequences/costs along with a preferred recommendation
  • Actively engage and provide timely support for due diligence of asset acquisitions and support the Operating Areas and E&C on projects and incorporation of new assets into the Mechanical Integrity program
Company Profile

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
