Senior Procurement Engineer for Abu Dhabi

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for overseeing a team of buyers with varying degrees of Oil & Gas procurement experience, with the ability to mentor less experience staff from a technical and commercial perspective.
• Analyse full technical tenders and develop commercial Bill of Materials (BOMs) to enable procurement specialists to issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
• Accountable for development and approval of Bid-Lists and purchase orders up to certain limit of authority. Responsible for development of procurement strategies.
• Review vendor quotes and evaluate for technical compliance with client requirements and make aware recommendations to clients, considering client criteria including Total Cost of Ownership.
• Interface with buyers and suppliers to ensure complete and accurate submittals are received and evaluated in order to meet client deadlines. Ensure awards of Contracts and Purchase Orders are in compliance with customer specification.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will be:

• Degree educated with at least 11-12 years experience within a similar supply chain organisation, with Oil & Gas environment.
• Will be have the ability to act in a “customer facing” role and comprehend challenges of company customers and recommend solutions.
• Deep technical knowledge of Oil & Gas tendering process, with strong ability to translate detailed technical documentation and drawings into commercial item requirements for procurement.
• Knowledge of Middle East Oil & Gas Supplier market necessary.
• You will have sourcing, purchasing, risk management and vendor management experience.
• Must be computer literate with good oral and written communication skills in English.
