DevOps Engineer
Job Description:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or relevant experience and accomplishments.
• 6+ years of Linux and/or Windows system administration with experience in an environment with 300+ servers.
• 2+ years direct, hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools like Visual Studio Team Services, Jenkins.
• 2+ years direct, hands-on experience with automated cloud provisioning and management – Microsoft Azure preferred.
• 2+ years direct, hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Group Policy, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Demonstrated proficiency with one or more scripting/programming languages relevant to Devops – PowerShell, Python, BASH, and similar technologies.
• Experience with SDLC tools, such as VSTS, Jira, Bitbucket, Git.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with business and technical teams.
• Periodic after hours on-call support required.
• Ability to travel occasionally ~15%.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 6+ years of experience in the IT field.
• Experience working in environments subject to compliance frameworks like SOC1, SOC2.
• Working knowledge of Docker containers, microservice architecture, and automated
deployment/management of containerized applications.
• Experience with APM/monitoring tools such as NewRelic or AppDynamics.
• Knowledge of relational databases like SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and non-relational databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of best practices for IT operations in an always-on, always-available service model.
• General knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers etc.
