Job Summary
Trainee Engineer Responsibilities: Completing all tasks set by the Supervisor and assisting wherever possible. Observing existing strategies and techniques and offering suggestions for improvement. Conducting research and collating data. Traveling to different sites and gaining practical experience in new work zones. Working closely with staff to foster professional values and build good relationships. Observing health and safety guidelines at all times. Attending meetings and workshops. Submitting to all forms of evaluation during the traineeship. Compiling reports and delivering presentations to staff members and other stakeholders. Trainee Engineer Requirements: Relevant degree in Engineering. Experience in a technical field would be advantageous. A driver's license may be required. Proficiency in Mathematics. Analytical and critical thinking skills. Good communication skills. Ability to maintain composure under pressure. Ability to work in a team. Good observation skills and a willingness to learn.

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
