Job Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing detailed financial and cost accounting analysis to the Company and its foreign subsidiaries. This individual will work with finance department and business functional teams to provide financial insight and leadership, and to drive improved operational and financial performance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and presentations. Working closely with operations to explain monthly, YTD business activity, and significant variances to budget.
 Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc.) providing monthly variance and trend analysis to help tell the story behind the numbers. Track and analyze performance against the financial plan, forecast and prior year.
 Responsible for the ongoing analysis of inventory and cost of goods sold including the review of standard costs, bill of material cost rolls, manufactured versus purchased material.
 Assist in setting standard costs, and analyzing manufacturing, material and engineering variances.


 Provide financial leadership in ongoing process development, documentation, conversion and implementation of a cost accounting systems and controls.
 Analysis of direct manufacturing and overhead cost with the objective of reducing cost or assisting Operations with more effective return on investments.
 Complete Sales and Manufacturing focused financial modeling to analyze profitability of business opportunities and return on capital investments, making recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
 Analyze and report on various Manufacturing key performance indicators.
 Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
 Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
 Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
 Assist Operations in developing capital expenditure requests, including returns on investment, payback, etc.
 Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that affect the company.
 Provide support and guidance to our Managers to assist in analyzing and understanding financial reports.
 Support senior leadership with ad-hoc information requests and projects during the annual budget process and throughout the year.
 Prepare annual plan and monthly forecasts

 Identify and drive continual process improvement leveraging best practices, standardization and automation
to scale processes


Education and/or Experience:
 Bcom, finance and/or accounting required; CPA/CFA and/or MBA preferred.
 5+ years’ relevant career experience to include general finance and accounting responsibilities, budgeting &
reporting, financial analysis, ROI, EVA and other methods for analyzing business results and decisions
 Experience mining data from multiple sources
 Experience working in small to midsize corporate environments
 Experience with the manufacturing or capital equipment industry is strongly suggested
