Job Description:

 

Educational Qualification: B. Tech / Diploma Graduation

(With Specialization): B.Tech/B.E./Diploma in Mechanical/Production/ Paint engineering

 

Job Responsibilities

1. Quality Control:

• Conduct regular quality inspections of painted vehicle bodies and components to identify defects, imperfections, and deviations from quality standards.

• Collaborate with paint shop team members to implement corrective actions and prevent defects from recurring.

• Maintain detailed records of quality inspection findings and report them to the Paint Shop Manager.

2. Process Monitoring:

• Monitor and evaluate the paint shop processes to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.

• Work closely with the production team to address process-related issues and implement necessary changes.

3. Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control activities, inspection reports, and process improvement initiatives.

• Generate reports for management review and analysis.

• Maintain quality systems like operating standards, work instruction sheets etc.

4. Training and Development:

• Provide training to paint shop personnel on quality control techniques and best practices.

• Promote a culture of quality consciousness among team members.

5. Supplier Interaction:

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials, paints, and coatings.

• Participate in supplier audits and evaluations.

6. Continuous Improvement:

• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality enhancement projects.

• Implement Lean and Six Sigma principles to streamline processes and reduce waste.

Competencies / Skills Functional/Technical:

• Proven experience in quality control and coordination within an automotive paint shop or related manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of paint application processes, coatings, and quality standards.

• Proficient in the use of quality control tools and methodologies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ,PowerPoint and power BI (desirable) for creating and presenting reports.
