Job Description:

Purpose of the Job: Set up and animate the Integrated Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System in accordance with company policy.

Management of complete QHSE on site and ensure incident free construction / operations on site.  Reporting lines HSE Manager reports to the AGM-QHSE (HO Pune). 

 

Key Accountabilities 

• Responsible for complete QHSE management on site.

• Implementation of Safety Management System on site.

• Ensure that all contractors and workmen are provided with necessary training on site.

• Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed by all workmen on site.

• PTW, LOTO, etc. and all relevant systems are strictly implemented on site.

• Review design and engineering documents and provide inputs related to safety.

• Compile and distribute weekly, monthly and yearly HSE statistics.

• Work towards the goal of incident free site. 

• In case of any incident, investigate and provide RCA of the same. Ensure that incidents are not repeated.

• Provide administrative support to all HSE related meetings and events.

• Liaise with QHSE country / business unit leaders with regards to QHSE data and statistiques, incident reporting, etc.

• Play a lead role in contractor management (mobilization / monitoring) HSE activities by ensuring the compliance to applicable legal requirement by contractor (verification of applicable documents), training on quality & HSE aspects, verification of compliance as per WO & HSE terms & conditions.

• Plan & Organize and coordinate safety programs, application of engineering principles and technology to prevent or correct unsafe safety & environmental working conditions.

• Ensure all applicable HSE statutory and other compliance related to site.

• All HSE related site inspections like- O&M work, Lifting tools & tackles inspection, PPE Inspection, Electrical tools inspection, PTW, documentation, etc.

• Coordinate safety meetings at sites, record MoM, ensure timely closure of actionable & reporting to HO- QHSE.

• Effective implementation of basic Safety like PTW, Tool Box Talk, LOTO, LMRA, Vendor's compliance, etc. • Ensure strict HSE compliance by self and others at site & Adherence to systems and processes.   

• Conduct Site HSE audits, prepare & release reports, follow up on NCRs / improvement areas and ensure closure.

• Visits to other sites (O&M) for HSE audit and submit report against the same as directed by HO- QHSE.

• Lead the various trainings and mock drills for all site team.

• Record & reporting all  HSSE indicators to HO- QHSE. Daily / Weekly / Monthly reporting.

• Play a vital role during any emergency situation, RCA, incident investigation and reporting as & when required.

• Interface with the clients for resolution of their queries related to HSE at site level.

• Monthly self-assessment audits and weekly PTW system audits of each site. Conduct monthly HSE inspections of PPE, etc.

• Effective involvement of HSE members in daily work permits and active involvement in work approval in high-risk activities.

• Implementation of Group HSE rules, protocols, standards time to time.

• Support in implementation of EOSC program. Key relationships Key relationships are as follows: Internal Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Engineers and Supervisors, Office team, etc.  External Owner’s Engineer, EPC (General) Contractor, all contractors and workmen on site, logistics provider, etc.

 

Qualifications engineering graduate) with safety work experience. 

 

NEBOSH Diploma / Certificate. AIDS (Advance Diploma in Industrial Fire & Safety). 

Experience 8 to 10 years in managing safety on construction sites.
