Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the food processing plant, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.
    • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to manage inventory levels effectively.
  2. Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures throughout the production process.
    • Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and consistency.
  3. Process Optimization:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency measures.
    • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and machinery.
    • Introduce new technologies and best practices to enhance production capabilities.
  4. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of production professionals.
    • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability within the production department.
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to promote skill development and career growth.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to food processing.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Work closely with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
  6. Cost Management:

    • Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (X+ years) in a senior-level role within food processing operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing technologies, equipment, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the food industry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
