Job Description:

Head - Operations – Production:

 

  • Overall responsible for the activities at the plant level with special focus on production. Must be actively involved in maintaining product quality, on-time shipments, cost-efficient production, safe work practices and continuous process improvement.
  • Review and approve the utility calculation and costing, material balance of process, energy balance, troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and conduct safety talk for PPE usage in all production and risky areas.
  • Review and upgrade self by attending conferences, seminars, trade shows and webinars. Ensure GMP practice implementation. Also responsible for entire documentation at the plant level for the adoption of various international standards  like ISO , GMP, cGMP, SA etc. Also play active role in various audits from government departments, ISO.
  • Review and approve safe installation of equipment, manpower handling, plant housekeeping.
  • Review and approve BOM for material procurement, equipment for purchase.
  • Participate in all HAZOP studies to prepare action plan for risk elimination or reduction in all areas of the plant.
  • Review and approve commissioning of the plant as per elevations, drawings and project plan. Ensure all necessary modifications are done in coordination with processed design engineers to ensure that plant meets its design goals.
  • Work positively to improve the productivity and yield of plant.
  • Ensure all processes are documented and the same is approved at all times.
  • Review and approve the systems implementation by conducting internal audits as per various criteria like customer specifications , ISO /GMP requirements.
  • Review, approve and develop operating manual by covering the required parameters with the involvement of all the input resources and ensure that the same is updated and current at all times.
  • Review and approve monthly reports covering highlights, performance, improvements achieved, issues, counter measures and future plan.
  • Co-ordinate and get inputs for production planning with sales team and top management.
  • Ensure that any non-compliance is reviewed immediately and counter measures taken for the same in shortest possible time for all core processes of the organisation.
  • Review and make sure that specified norms for production, energy and wastes are monitored and controlled as per company requirements and industry benchmarks.
  • Review and update self and the team members on the best practices prevalent in similar plants through interactions and visiting such facilities.
  • Approve goals and review performance for managers, shift in-charges and supervisors.
  • Review and approve the training needs of subordinates and facilitate the same in planned way.
  • Monitor, review and reward high performers and motivate people to work at highest level.
  • Review, approve and ensure right disciplinary actions for the mistake or safety – bypass because of individual lapses/negligence
  • Review and approve employee motivation along with HR team by implementing relevant HR practices and systems. Shall also be responsible to maintain attrition ratio within agreed limits
  • Review and approve development of team by identifying relevant needs and organizing/imparting training internally/externally. Ensure that development needs of each individual are met in timely manner.
  • Plan activities such that the organization works towards conservation of resources and optimizing the production efficiencies.
  • Responsible to ensure proper recording of incident/accident/first aid/near misses and analysis of the same to minimize the risk at shop floor.
  • Review and approve periodic monitoring of cleanliness, facility maintenance and safety and fire extinguishing appliances. Also responsible for implementation of all recommendation of HAZOP, safety and environmental inspections and audit.
  • Review and approve all processes in the plant to get the same result as per pilot plant output.
  • Review and approve data in production to see that the same results are obtained as per pilot plant.
  • To ensure that a quality system is established implemented and maintained in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
  • To ensure that a quality system is established implemented and maintained in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
  • To ensure that information security management system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the ISO 27001 standards.
  • To follow all ISMS policy.
  • To ensure that the continuous improvement is going on after implementing the system.
  • To establish control system on quality records.
