Job Description:

Summary: Creates programs and set-up sheets for manual and CNC equipment in order to produce parts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Writes and provides comprehensive programming for assigned equipment with current CNC platform for CNC machining
- Creates and writes set-up sheets that instruct machinist
- Collaborates and consults with machinist for improvements to establish shortest set-up and run times Identifies and purchases tooling as required to support new part and process improvement requirements
- Seeks new and improved technology to stay competitive


Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Participates in pre-production collaborating with engineering departments
- Performs cost estimates on part bids
- Operates CNC machines
- Train/Mentor employees
- Performs Team Lead duties
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Understanding of and ability to follow blueprints, machinist functions, set up sheets and sequence of operations
- Ability to read SWI (Standard Work Instruction)
- Advanced computers skill
- Posses strong soft skills and customer service
- Ability to follow dispatch list and use of time clock
- Advanced equipment operation - hand tools and machine tools
- Advanced written and oral communication
- Basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Basic trigonometry
- Knowledge of Lean Principles preferred

Other:
-Must meet or exceed company expectations regarding proficiency before advancing to
the next level.
- Overtime may be required as needed
- Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling work, and reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments,but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
- Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager; incumbent follows precedents and procedures, and may set priorities and organizes work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager
- Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within
a department. Job may contribute to important strategy, operational and business
decisions that affect the department.
- Problems are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are
solved using knowledge and skills, and general precedents and practices.
Education and/or Experience:
- Vocational or technical training required. Years of applicable experience may substitute
training requirement.
- 5+ years’ experience
