General Manager - Shared Services( Finance )
Job Description:
Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to spearhead the
establishment and management of our new shared services business unit in India. Reporting to the
President of our India subsidiary, with a dotted line to the CFO at our corporate headquarters in
Vancouver, Washington, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in building, leading, and optimizing
the shared services team. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in
operations management, business development, and financial acumen to ensure the success and
profitability of the shared services unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Establishment and Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for establishing the shared services unit,
including defining organizational structure, processes, and performance metrics.
Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of shared services managers and
professionals.
Provide strong leadership and direction to ensure alignment with company goals and
values.
2. Operational Excellence:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of shared services business unit, ensuring efficient
and effective delivery of services.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, service
quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement best practices and standardized processes to ensure consistency and
compliance across all locations.
3. Business Development and Growth:
Collaborate with subsidiaries and corporate stakeholders to identify opportunities for
expanding shared services offerings and revenue streams.
Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to promote the value proposition of
shared services and drive business development efforts.
4. Financial Management:
Develop and manage the annual budget for the shared services unit, ensuring alignment
with strategic priorities and financial targets.
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as
needed to achieve profitability goals.
Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality and customer
satisfaction.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across departments and subsidiaries to
ensure seamless integration of shared services operations.
Liaise with corporate functions, including finance, HR, legal, and compliance, to address
operational and regulatory requirements.
Act as a liaison between the shared services team and other business units to facilitate
communication and alignment on shared goals.
6. Risk Management and Compliance:
Implement robust risk management processes and controls to mitigate operational,
financial, and compliance risks.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies
across all shared services activities.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to risk management
and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
Strong background in finance, accounting, or related disciplines, with a proven track record of
driving financial performance and profitability.
Demonstrated experience in business development, client relationship management, and
strategic planning.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate
effectively across all levels of the organization.
Proven leadership abilities, including team building, coaching, and development.
Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity and
complexity.
Fluency in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
Willingness to travel as needed.
