A store executive's responsibilities
A Store Clerk, or Store Associate, provides in-store assistance to customers browsing inventory or checking out items.
Their duties include welcoming customers to the store, answering questions about products and using a cash register to process purchases.
Developing store strategies to raise customers' pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
- Inventory management: Receiving, storing, and issuing materials, and taking inventory
- Asset control: Recording the entry of new assets, and maintaining maintenance logs
- Store operations: Overseeing the daily operations of the store, and ensuring it's clean and well-organized
- Store policies: Implementing store policies and procedures
- Training: Supervising and training store staff
- Reporting: Reporting on inventory and asset issues, and preparing monthly, half-yearly, and annual inventory reports
- Coordination: Coordinating with other functions, such as the finance department and vendors
- Documentation: Maintaining records of calibration, fuel, and consumables
- Warehouse maintenance: Maintaining the warehouse's physical conditions, layout, and design
- Storage and fulfillment: Establishing procedures and protocols for proper storage and fulfillment practices
