Job Description:

Reporting: Plant Head Vijayanagar

Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering preferable Chemical and Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from CLI & RLI with 15-18 years of experience

Location: Vijayanagar

Grade: L13/ L14 (DGM/ GM)

Key Result Areas :

  • To ensure the safety culture all policy related activities implement as per safety guidelines.
  • Complete ownership of statutory compliances at the site in coordination with all stakeholders.
  • To implement the work permit system and LOTO at the site as per procedure
  • Implementation of Safety Procedures at the site as per group safety guidelines.
  • To ensure the conducting of RCA of critical near misses, minor or major incidents and implement the corrective action plan.
  • To conduct Safety Inspection at the site.
  • To ensure the various safety audits on the field as per group requirements.
  • Ownership of vendor assessment along with the sales team before assigning the job.
  • To conduct Safety training for workmen and staff.
  • Organize Safety campaign and safety awareness programs
  • Sharing of all best practices to the team through TBT’s and meetings.
  • Conduct mock drill for ensuring our preparedness in case of emergency and capturing of MOM/Mock drill Reports/Audit finding in Mysetu
  • Motivate the employees towards safety by conducting the motivational program at work places.
  • Conduct internal audit as per Factory Acts Norm.
  • Conduct Monthly Safety Meeting at the site.
  • Implementation of Consequence Management Procedure.
  • Standardization of PTW, LOTO, Scaffolding procedure. Integration of BSC elements in IMS. Digitization of PTW
    For Apply & Supply Coordination and support in developing of SOP
  • Implement TAKE-5 or EYE-5 initiatives at workplace - Fire Fighter & First Aider member identification and display at main gate with present status.
  • Conduct Safety Audit as per the regulatory requirement, DISH.
  • Ensure various OCPs/SOPs are being followed thoroughly on shop floor, improve the process gradually and take remedial measures if found violations
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Critical Tasks :

  • Ensure Compliance of the point raised in Steering Committee/Industrial Coating Safety Meetings.
  • Responsible for fulfilling the requirements of the IMS system at the customer site as per customer requirements.
  • Oversee campaigns for improvement areas based on reviews and findings from Audits, Accident/incident investigations etc.
  • Monitor and prepare contractor wise Score cards for leading and lagging H&S Indicators.
  • Monitor and implement Health and Safety Plan at the Sites.
  • Interact with Customer Safety Heads and HODs on the performance improvement plans and monthly, quarterly and yearly status.
  • Implementation of Process Safety at all JSW-Paint Units

Competencies :

  • Crafting/Analyzing/Interpreting data, analysing results by using statistical techniques and providing ongoing/New reports.
  • Ability to motivate, manage and drive team members to achieve the internal targets set by the organization.
  • Ability to assess individual strengths and development needs and initiate appropriate actions to address gaps through training, re-skilling, etc.
  • Should be good in business communication, situation management and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Dealing with Govt. Officer with respect to plant legal requirements
