Job Description:

 

The Procurement & Logistics Executive oversee the coordination and management of all procurement and import-related activities within a company. They ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchase, disposal and import of goods and materials from local and overseas suppliers. This involves managing a range of logistical, regulatory, and financial aspects of the purchase and import process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Planning and Coordination:

  1. Develop and implement purchase & import strategies and plans to meet company objectives.
  2. Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party vendors.
  3. Manage shipping schedules, documentation, and logistics

 

Compliance and Regulatory:

  1. Ensure all accounts are up to date in tally and other systems
  2. Ensure compliance with all purchase and import regulations, laws, and tariffs.
  3. Oversee customs clearance processes and documentation.
  4. Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations.

 

Inventory Management:

  1. Monitor inventory levels and forecast future purchase, disposal and import needs.
  2. Manage warehouse operations and storage of goods with the store managers.

 

Cost Control and Optimization:

  1. Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the purchase and import process.
  2. Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders to secure favorable rates.
  3. Analyze purchase and import data to identify areas for cost optimization.

 

Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Prepare reports on import activities, performance metrics, and cost savings.
  2. Analyze import data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  3. Ensure all accounts are up to date

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in accounts, purchase and import operations or a related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping practices.
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant import management software.
  6. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
