Procurement & Logistics Executive
Job Description:
The Procurement & Logistics Executive oversee the coordination and management of all procurement and import-related activities within a company. They ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchase, disposal and import of goods and materials from local and overseas suppliers. This involves managing a range of logistical, regulatory, and financial aspects of the purchase and import process.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and implement purchase & import strategies and plans to meet company objectives.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party vendors.
- Manage shipping schedules, documentation, and logistics
Compliance and Regulatory:
- Ensure all accounts are up to date in tally and other systems
- Ensure compliance with all purchase and import regulations, laws, and tariffs.
- Oversee customs clearance processes and documentation.
- Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future purchase, disposal and import needs.
- Manage warehouse operations and storage of goods with the store managers.
Cost Control and Optimization:
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the purchase and import process.
- Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders to secure favorable rates.
- Analyze purchase and import data to identify areas for cost optimization.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare reports on import activities, performance metrics, and cost savings.
- Analyze import data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure all accounts are up to date
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts, purchase and import operations or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant import management software.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
