CANTEEN MANAGER

Job Description:

Responsibilities

 Assist with the preparation of a annual canteen budget/forecast for inclusion within the clubs strategic plan and consideration by the Board/Committee;

 Establish canteen operating hours and prepare a volunteer canteen roster;

 Order all food and drink items considered necessary to stock the canteen;

 Arrange pick-up/delivery of all items;

 Ensure the canteen is regularly restocked throughout the season;

 Supervise canteen staff and assist during busy periods;

 Obtain and account for any floats that are required from the Treasurer;

 Maintain appropriate records as required by the Treasurer and/or Committee;

 Ensure that the canteen and its contents are secure at all times;

 Keep the Committee informed of all relevant matters;

 Supply a report at each monthly meeting;

 Maintain safe work environment in accordance with the Work Health Safety Act

 Day-to-day management and operation of the canteen services

 Manage Canteen Staff and workload of Canteen Staff

 Manage stock levels of the Canteen and timely ordering of stock

 Manage catering for functions when required

 Preparation and cooking of food

 General cleaning and maintaining of a hygienic kitchen

 Serving customers – staff and students

 Maintaining and balancing of financial transactions.

 Any other tasks as determined by the Business Manager.

 Ensure the canteen is kept in a hygienic manner, following safe food handling practices(a course in Safe Food Handling is required and will be paid for by the club); and

 Attend monthly club meetings, providing a report of activities.
