Job Description:

Location: Kadi 

Reports To: Sr. Manager – Materials Management

Job Summary:

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for the company's operations. This role involves ensuring that procurement activities are conducted in a timely, cost-effective, and quality-focused manner. The Procurement Engineer will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure that procurement goals are met and to support the company’s production and project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure effective communication and partnership.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
  2. Procurement Process:
    • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, equipment, and services.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize excess inventory.
  3. Cost Management:
    • Analyze market trends and conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
    • Conduct cost analysis and bench marking to ensure competitive pricing.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that purchased materials and components meet required specifications and standards.
    • Address and resolve any quality issues or non-conformances with suppliers.
  5. Project Support:
    • Work with engineering and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to support project schedules.
    • Provide technical support and expertise in the evaluation of supplier proposals and product selections.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, supplier information, and contract details.
    • Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP / ERP systems).
  • Good understanding of market dynamics and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
