Job Description:

Role Purpose Statement (Write a brief statement regarding the objective of the position and why it exists):
 The primary role of the maintenance planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by
eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of the required
materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work. The planner is responsible for the planning
of all maintenance work performed in the area to which he/she is assigned. He/she maintains
appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or completed work.
Main Accountabilities (List 6-8 major areas of responsibilities in order of importance, and purpose of these activities:
In the performance of his/her duties, the planner:
 Receives all work orders from the requesting departments of the areas to which he/she is assigned,
except those for emergency work, which are requested of the appropriate maintenance supervisor for
immediate attention.
 Reviews and screens each work order to see that is has been properly filled out:
 Work scope clearly described
 Check if the priority and requested completion date are realistic and provide practical lead-time
 Charge numbers and other coding are complete and accurate
 Discusses the details with the originating department as appropriate
 Makes any additional sketches diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work order.
 Ensures that the work requested is needed. If the need is questioned and not readily resolved with
operation or requesting personnel, refers the work order to the maintenance manager.
 Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures as required
 Reviews with engineering those work orders requiring engineering design. (Maintenance work orders
which can be planned out but which require participation by shop or functional crews are copied (cross-
order) and provided to the appropriate planner for planning of the supplemental work.)
 Examines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work. Consults with requester or
maintenance supervisor when necessary.
 Obtains blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or
other sources. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work
order.
 Identifies and obtains (requisitions, orders, kits as appropriate and in keeping with procedures)
materials, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the work. Determines if critical items are
in stock by verifying availability with stores.
 Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in work planning.
 Estimates jobs showing sequence of steps, the number of technicians and required labor hours for each
step. Lists determinable materials and any special tools or equipment needed.
 Estimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost.
 Maintains backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with
an estimated completion date. Those unplanned, requiring engineering, waiting for materials, waiting
for downtime, etc., are filed accordingly.
 Recommends equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.
 In accordance with standard practice, provides the clerks with all documents for reporting or closeout.
 Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical
experience, to simplify the planning process.
 Reviews with the maintenance area supervisors the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and
material used for completed jobs, in order to determine corrective measures needed to improve the
accuracy of estimating and improving methods of doing work.

 Assists maintenance and operations management in periodically analyzing costs and, where necessary,
recommends corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs.
 Keeps the Reliability Engineer properly informed on all abnormal or critical situations and seeks advice
on matters outside of the planner’s knowledge or authority.
 Make recommendations for system improvement.
 Conduct informal training as required of maintenance personnel in proper maintenance procedures and
proper reporting procedures and in the use of CMMS software as a maintenance tool.
 review all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating machinery history data in
the CMMS as required
 Maintains necessary records and files and prepares and distributes accurate control reports

sales/revenue):
 Improving the PM /PdMs as per values for L2 Of asset care pillar.

To ensure the operation areas or functions that he serves receive the prompt, efficient and quality
service from the maintenance function they need in order to operate at a high level of efficiency by
eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of the required
materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work.
 Accurately define and estimate work requests.
 Data and asset record management
 Properly prepare and distribute meaningful control reports.

Major Opportunities and Decisions (Describe the more difficult and/or complex challenges or opportunities and
decisions faced in doing work, improving processes or meeting customer needs. Where must position focus to be
successful?):
 Walkdown & listing of all newly installed assets in timely manner & populate in SAP within 3 months
from commissioning of the assets.
 BPS Asset Care pillar L-1 cross over.

specialties, technical and knowledge areas necessary to accomplish responsibilities and desired results):
 Good Analytical skill / knowledge
 Demonstrated leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
 Strong organizational skills required to constantly keep in touch with various departments of the
organization.

 Ability to work closely with all business functions.
 Use knowledge of Bunge’s Business, structure, and strategy to develop innovative solutions to improve
results or eliminate problems.
 A thorough professional with a proactive attitude, capable of thinking in and out of the box, generating
new ideas.
 Knowledge of SAP (PM Module), SRM,GENIUS, MS Project etc
Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces (External & Internal):
 Reports to the Reliability Manager.
 Works closely with the Operations Supervisor.
 Works closely with the Maintenance Scheduler.
 Works closely with Maintenance Supervisors.
 Works closely with stores and purchasing personnel.
 Maintains good working relationships with other organizational units in the plant.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies (Identify knowledge and specific technical competencies to accomplish the
desired end results. Some examples are licenses & certifications and knowledge and abilities):
 Knowledge of SAP, SRM & GENIUS
 Reliability Techniques ( PM,CPM,PdM,CPdM..etc)
 Root Cause Analysis (ARCA), RCA-Y-Y / Fish bone methods & APPOLO etc.
 Risk Assessment of Projects & non-routine Maint. tasks
 BGSMS
 Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS-PM-Modle)
 Predictive technologies
 Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
 Knowledge of Auto Cad & making drawings.
 5S & Kaizens.
 Good computerized skills well versed with xl,word,PPT &able to make daily MIS

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Education/Experience (Identify types and length of education and experience needed to acquire the necessary skills
and knowledge to accomplish the desired end results. Some examples are education & training, and years of
experience):
 BE Mech or Elect
 5-6 Year experience in similar role in the Oil & Fat or similar industries incl Utilities like Ammonia system,
Boilers , TFHs , compressed air & cooling Towers etc.
