Job Description:

Reports To: Director of Sales

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the printing and packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, a deep understanding of the flexible packaging, corrugated packaging, and label printing markets, and the ability to drive sales growth through strategic planning and effective team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and profitability goals within the packaging sector.
    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities in packaging materials, custom packaging solutions, and stay updated on industry trends.
    • Prepare annual sales plans, forecasts, and budgets for the packaging division.
  2. Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets in printing and packaging solutions.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance sales skills in packaging products.
    • Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members with a focus on packaging expertise.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the packaging industry.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and effectively, ensuring satisfaction with our packaging solutions.
    • Negotiate and close high-value deals with major clients in the packaging market.
  4. Sales Operations:
    • Oversee daily sales operations and ensure efficient processes within the packaging sales team.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics for packaging products to identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns focused on packaging innovations.
  5. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement in the packaging sector.
    • Analyze sales data specific to packaging materials and solutions to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions to address any performance issues in the packaging sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the printing packaging industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the packaging market.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions related to packaging solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of the printing packaging market and industry trends.
  • Familiarity with flexible packaging, rigid packaging, sustainable packaging, and innovative packaging solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking related to packaging products.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a competitive packaging market.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality packaging solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing market conditions in the packaging industry.

Work Environment: This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Travel to client locations and industry events related to packaging is required.
