Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for logistics operations to meet organizational goals and customer requirements.
    • Analyze market trends, customer demand, and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  2. Transportation Management:

    • Coordinate and optimize transportation activities, including freight forwarding, shipping, and delivery operations.
    • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers to minimize costs and maximize service quality.
    • Monitor transportation routes, schedules, and performance to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  3. Warehousing and Inventory Control:

    • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
    • Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels, minimize holding costs, and prevent stockouts or overages.
    • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software to track inventory movements, manage stock accuracy, and analyze inventory data.
  4. Supply Chain Coordination:

    • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to coordinate supply chain activities and ensure timely availability of materials and components.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
    • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and reliability.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to logistics, transportation, and warehousing.
    • Assess and mitigate risks related to logistics operations, such as transportation delays, supply chain disruptions, and inventory shortages.
    • Develop contingency plans and response strategies to address unforeseen events and emergencies.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Recruit, train, and mentor logistics staff, including supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse personnel.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
