Job Description:
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering.
- Specialization or certification in lubrication engineering or tribology is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in lubrication engineering, preferably with a focus on rotating equipment.
- Strong knowledge of lubrication principles, lubricant types, and their applications in rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to lubrication and condition monitoring.
- Experience with lubricant analysis techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in using lubrication-related software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Responsibilities of Lubricants: The Lubrication Engineer will be expected to perform the following tasks:
TASK 1. Lubrication Strategy Development:
- Conduct a thorough analysis of the rotating equipment, including pumps,motors, compressors, etc., to assess their lubrication requirements.
- Develop comprehensive lubrication strategies that consider equipment specifications, operating conditions, and maintenance goals.
- Select appropriate lubricants and greases based on equipment compatibility and performance requirements.
- Establish lubrication schedules, including oil changes, sampling, and analysis.
TASK 2 –Lubricant Selection and Application:
- Evaluate different lubricant options and make recommendations based on equipment manufacturers' guidelines, industry standards, and best practices.
- Ensure proper lubricant storage, handling, and dispensing procedures are followed.
- Communicate with rotating Engineer to acquire high-quality lubricants from reliable suppliers.
- Provide guidance on the correct lubrication techniques, including oil circulation, greasing, and oil mist lubrication.
TASK 3- Lubricant Analysis and Condition Monitoring:
- Implement lubricant analysis and condition monitoring programs to assess the health and performance of the lubricants and equipment.
- Conduct regular oil sampling and analysis to monitor contamination levels, wear debris, viscosity, and other key parameters.
- Interpret oil analysis results and provide recommendations for corrective actions, such as filtration, reconditioning, or lubricant replacement.
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as thermography and ultrasound, to detect lubrication-related issues.
TASK -4 Training and Documentation:
- Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel on proper lubrication practices, including storage, handling, and application.
- Develop and maintain lubrication-related documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and equipment lubrication logs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new lubricant technologies, and equipment-specific lubrication requirements
