Job Description: Manager (Production) -Lactide synthesis Section

Reports To: Production Head

Job Objective-:To establish, maintain and sustain all included process conditions as Manager to ensure -the consistent synthesis and production of lactides (of desired quality) from purified lactic acid, while maximizing efficiency and meeting specified norms for Lactic acid to lactide synthesis production steps:

ESSENTIAL ROLES &RESPONSIBILITIES (Project and Operation)-     

1. Lactic acid to lactide synthesis is Oversee shift operations to maintain specified norms for the conversion of lactic acid to lactides including unit operations-distillation &synthesis. Lactides are to be produced as quality feed for quality production of poly lactic Acid pellets.
2. Supervising shift operations to ensure adherence to process methods and specified norms as expected for production of desired quality lactide production intended to be used for production of PLA (Poly lactic Acid) withoptimized uses of resources &maximum yields.
3. Implement the required SOPs and protocols as per specified.
4. Monitoring the performance of unit operations, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions, as necessary.
5. Coordinating with shift personnel to optimize production efficiency and maintain specified quality standards.
6. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all process operations
7. Training and mentoring shift staff on operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures
8. Collaborating with other departments to address any cross-functional issues and improve overall plant performance.
9. Maintaining accurate production records and reports to track process performance and identify areas for improvement.
10. Provide a leadership role in developing a high standard for -1-consistent quality production and 2- working environment with co-ordination & team spirit.
11. Support projects as the Shift process manager to establish efficient and reliable process control strategy, systems and equipment, also lead implementation of process improvement projects and plans.
12. Take a lead role inproject’s Operations package (Handling of the data given by Technology provider) and to establish user friendly systems for efficient and effective unit operations as specified.
13. Participate in development of control philosophy, design, documentation, and implementation.
14. Need base participation in HAZOPs and LOPA studies.
15. Responsible for developing and implementing for unit shutdowns, turnarounds, and start-ups plans including cleaning, maintenance, and readiness of equipment's.
16. Identify and champion ways to create value through process optimization systems on continual basis in production facility.
17. Ensure capability development of team by identifying training needs and nominating them for training programs.     
18. Conduct formal performance assessment for the team and provide performance and developmental feedback.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE –

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or Ph.D. will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5-8years’ experience in synthesis technology as used in nylon or other polymer industry.
• Well versed in distillation, synthesis and related chemical technologies and related trouble shooting.
• Experience in the nylon industry, in manufacturing environment, with specific experience with synthesizers, analyzers including day trouble shooting.
• Working on centralized control system (DCS and SCADA)
• Management of large team on the shop floor
• Safety and Regulatory Adherence
  Ensuring that processes meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations is a critical aspect of their role.
• Communication and Teamwork
  Process Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, so effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.
