About company: Manufacturer of Plastics Packaging Products- Lamination Film, Printed Film, Shrink Film, Stretch Film, Various types of bags, Various types of wrapper, PET Bottles (for Beverage, Alcohol, Pharmaceutical, Oil), PET Jars, PET Preforms, Various types of Caps and closures, Jerry Cans & Drums, Containers for Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals, PP strap (Plain & Printed) and various other products.
Position: Manager Plant Operation
Location: Otta, Nigeria
Budget: 3,500- 5000 USD
Experience: 12 to 15 years
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations with responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
- Collect and analyse data to find places of waste or overtime.
- Commit to plant safety procedures.
- Address employees’ issues or grievances in consultation with HR.
- Create accountability and to lead by example.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.
- Actively involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control plan ahead for future contracts, overseeing the ordering of raw materials, storage and upgrading equipment).
- Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
- Direct and motivate the workforce, review performance, identify training needs often through supervisory staff.
- Develop and review operation procedures. Ensure that quality standards and deadlines are met and quality controls are in place.
- Hold responsibility for health and safety issues. Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Interact with high profile customers. Ensure that effective and positive customer relations and services are developed and maintained.
Requirements:
- Required qualification- Bachelors degree in related field.
- 12 to 15 years of overall experience and at least 5 to 6 years in a Managerial role, with a flexible packaging convertor overseeing the blown film, gravure printing, lamination, slitting and pouching operations.
- Having worked in an environment accredited with ISO, GMP and Global Food safety standards is essential.
