Job Description:

Role & responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing fire hydrant system.
• Design and implement fire hydrant system as per requirement of National Building Code and IS13039.
• Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of the fire hydrant system.
• Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of the trailer mounted pump and accessories.
• Conduct fire audit and ensure implementation of the findings.
• Ensure fire detection, fire prevention and firefighting arrangements as per fire load.
• Ensure all portable fire extinguishers satisfy IS 2190:2010 requirements, ensure upkeep and maintenance of them.
• Ensure fire detection system is in operation always, identify additional requirements if any and implement the same.
• Prepare BOQ and maintain the inventory of spares required for hydrant system, fire sprinklers, smoke/heat detectors, portable fire extinguishers.
• Conduct regular fire mock drills as per statutory guidelines and frequency, prepare reports and make ready for submission to statutory bodies. Min 4/annum.
• Conduct training on fire prevention and control, use of SCBA sets and emergency rescue to managers, officers, executives and contract employees and maintain record.
• Identify PPE requirement for fire fighters and maintain inventory.
• Ensure every fire incident is investigated, CAPA identified and implement to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with site legal/PR team to identify latest update.
• Keep close vigil, identify current changes in the fire safety legal requirement and communicate relevant information to the management and get it implemented.
• Ensure legal compliance with respect to, maintain and surpass fire NOC requirements.
• Take lead in inspection carried out by Government Fire Department and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and submit accurate report asked by the fire department on time after management consultation.
