Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Front Desk/Host is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, seating arrangements, and providing excellent customer service. This role ensures that guests have a positive first impression and a smooth dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception: Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensure they feel welcomed.
- Reservations Management: Handle phone and online reservations, maintain an accurate record of bookings, and communicate any special requests or needs.
- Seating Coordination: Manage the seating chart, assign tables efficiently based on guest needs, party size, and server availability.
- Waitlist Management: Maintain an organized waitlist during peak hours, inform guests of estimated wait times, and communicate when their table is ready.
- Customer Service: Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. Provide information about the menu, specials, or restaurant policies.
- Communication: Coordinate with kitchen staff and waitstaff to ensure smooth table turnover, address special guest requests, and relay any relevant information.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the front desk area is tidy, organized, and presentable. Occasionally assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the waiting area or lobby.
- Cash Handling: If applicable, process payments for reservations, deposits, or events.
- Other Duties: Assist with other administrative tasks or duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and friendly attitude.
- Knowledge of reservation software or systems is a plus.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
