Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Head to lead the financial and accounting operations of our mid-sized denim manufacturing company. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of various Indian financial laws, including the Companies Act, GST, Customs, Income Tax Act, and other relevant statutes. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects, ensuring compliance, managing a team of 5-6 accounting professionals, and driving efficiency in our accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting:
• Oversee the entire financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and present financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements) to senior management.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with Indian accounting standards.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
• Ensure strict adherence to the Companies Act, GST, Customs Act, Income Tax Act, and other relevant Indian laws.
• Handle all GST returns, audits, assessments, and refunds.
• Oversee the filing of income tax returns, and ensure tax planning and compliance with tax regulations.
• Manage custom-related duties and documentation for import/export of goods.
3. Team Leadership & Development:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5-6 accounting professionals, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of financial tasks.
• Assign tasks, review work, and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
• Ensure skill development and training of team members to stay updated with evolving laws and regulations.
4. Audit & Internal Controls:
• Manage statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely audit completion.
5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
• Oversee cash flow management, monitor liquidity, and ensure the company has sufficient working capital.
• Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and creditors.

1. Taxation & Duties:
• Ensure timely and accurate payments of taxes (GST, Income Tax, etc.) and filing of returns.
• Handle indirect taxes, customs duties, and liaise with authorities on taxation matters.
2. MIS & Financial Analysis:
• Prepare and analyze regular MIS reports, providing insights on cost control, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and informed decision-making.
3. Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate with the production, sales, and procurement teams to optimize costs and improve profitability.
• Maintain strong relationships with statutory authorities, auditors, bankers, and vendors.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: CA/ICWA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience: Minimum 4-10 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in manufacturing or textile/denim industries.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Indian laws such as Companies Act, GST, Customs, Income Tax Act, and other relevant statutes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of professionals.
• Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
