Job Description (JD) – Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Industry: Aluminum Die Casting Manufacturing
Location: Tesmo Motorcast Pvt Ltd
Department: Quality Assurance
Reporting To: Quality Manager

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aluminum die-cast products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements. The role involves implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, analyzing defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and inspection plans.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aluminum die-cast components.
  • Ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and prevent quality issues.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.

Process Quality Management

  • Monitor die casting, trimming, machining, and finishing processes for quality compliance.
  • Perform process audits and product audits.
  • Analyze process capability and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and control plans.

Defect Analysis & Corrective Actions

  • Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain records of non-conformities and corrective actions.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation including:
    • PPAP
    • APQP
    • FMEA
    • Control Plans
    • Inspection Reports
    • SPC Records
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Coordinate with customers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Support supplier quality evaluations and incoming material inspections.
  • Participate in customer audits and quality reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive quality improvement projects to reduce rejection, rework, and scrap.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and prepare periodic reports.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams for process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Production Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in Quality Assurance within an Aluminum Die Casting or Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
  • Knowledge of aluminum die casting processes and quality standards.
  • Experience in handling customer quality requirements and audits.

Technical Skills

  • GD&T interpretation.
  • Measurement techniques and calibration.
  • SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • MSA (Measurement System Analysis).
  • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving Tools.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and quality reporting tools.
