Job Description:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inter CA (Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant) specializing in GST Audit to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in GST compliance, audits, and filings, with a strong understanding of indirect taxation laws. This role will involve assisting in GST audits, ensuring proper compliance, and supporting clients in adhering to GST regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. GST Audit Execution:

    • Assist in planning and conducting GST audits, including reviewing financial records and GST returns.
    • Verify the correctness of GST liability, input tax credits (ITC), and adherence to GST laws.
    • Support in preparing and finalizing audit reports and recommendations.
  2. GST Compliance & Return Filing:

    • Oversee the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
    • Ensure accurate and timely submission of GST returns as per statutory deadlines.
    • Assist in the reconciliation of GST returns with financial statements and rectify any discrepancies.
  3. GST Advisory & Support:

    • Provide GST-related advisory services to clients on tax matters, compliance issues, and procedural changes.
    • Assist clients in GST registration, cancellation, or amendments as needed.
    • Prepare responses to GST notices and queries raised by tax authorities.
  4. Data Analysis & Reconciliation:

    • Conduct GST reconciliations (GSTR-2A/2B with books of accounts) to ensure proper credit and tax payment.
    • Identify and rectify mismatches in data during GST audits and filings.
    • Support in maintaining accurate records of invoices, input credits, and GST payments.
  5. Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain well-organized and up-to-date documentation for all GST filings and audit reports.
    • Assist in preparing working papers and ensuring accurate audit trail documentation.
  6. Process Improvement & Compliance:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in GST compliance and reporting.
    • Ensure adherence to all GST regulations, rules, and guidelines, and update clients on any legislative changes.
  7. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with senior team members and clients to ensure smooth and effective GST audit execution.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for data collection and reconciliation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GST laws, regulations, and audit procedures.
  • Practical experience in GST return filing, audit, and compliance is preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting and taxation software.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in GST audits, tax compliance, or indirect taxation.
  • Experience working with large datasets for reconciliation and compliance.
  • Knowledge of GST e-filing systems and portals.
