Job Description:
Role & responsibilities:
 
  • Production: Ensuring the factory is profitable, and that production targets are met within the required time, cost, and quality
  • Quality: Ensuring that products meet the buyer's standards, and that only quality goods are shipped
  • Staff: Motivating employees, and ensuring good employee relations
  • Planning: Overseeing production planning, material planning, and machinery planning
  • Coordination: Ensuring coordination between different areas of production, such as technical and quality
  • Communication: Ensuring the smooth flow of information and materials between departments, and resolving interdepartmental issues
  • Strategy: Developing and implementing strategies for expansion, productivity, and manpower management
  • Reporting: Providing performance reviews and information to higher executives or the board of directors
 
Tasks and Duties:
 
A General Manager's tasks are diverse and include:
 
  • Developing strategic operational plans that align with the companys mission and objectives.
  • Improving internal processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitoring financial performance to ensure the business remains profitable.
  • Leading, training, and developing a team to enhance performance and meet operational standards.
  • Establishing strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to drive business growth.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations to maintain companys legal and ethical standards.
  • Managing resources effectively to maximize output and minimize waste.
 
Preferred candidate profile:
 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Should have worked in Apparel Manufacturing Industry.
  • Must have worked with larger export companies.
  • Should have excellent leadership, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Exposure to Lean, SCM, TQM, etc., will be an added advantage
 
Skills and Qualities:
 
  1. Good leadership from mid-level to lower level
  2. Taking calculate risk
  3. Quick decision making skill in any situation. 
  4. Should be technically sound
  5. Able to understand any fancy and critical product producing
  6. Good judgment and compromise willing person
  7. Well-disciplined and productivity focused.
  8. Problem solver of all technical issue
  9. Represents the whole factory well
