    • Identifying needs: Understanding the company's needs and ordering supplies when they are required 
       
       
    • Researching suppliers: Evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, and availability 
       
       
    • Negotiating contracts: Negotiating with suppliers to get the best deals for the company 
       
       
    • Placing orders: Placing orders and ensuring timely delivery 
       
       
    • Tracking orders: Keeping track of inbound orders and comparing purchases to a master list 
       
       
  • Preparing reports: Preparing reports and communicating with management about prices 
     
     
  • Maintaining inventory: Keeping an eye on inventory and making orders or putting a hold on automatic orders 
     
     
  • Coordinating with branches: Coordinating with company branches to ensure they receive supplies in a timely manner 
     
     
  • Looking for ways to cut costs: Constantly looking for ways to cut back on the company's expenses 
     
     
Some common qualifications for a purchase job include a degree in business or supply chain management, and experience in procurement or a related field. 
 
 
  • Stocker
    Also known as a stock clerk, this role involves organizing and displaying merchandise to ensure customers can find what they're looking for. Duties include counting inventory, adding price tags, and putting products on shelves. 
     
     
  • Stock associate
    This role involves receiving, inspecting, and counting stock to ensure it's not damaged, spoiled, or missing. Other duties include recording inventory, labeling items, and maintaining the stockroom. 
     
     
  • Stock manager
    This role involves developing standard operating procedures and stock control best practices. It also includes providing training and guidance on stock management processes and procedures. 
     
     
  • Trader
    This role involves buying and selling financial instruments in various financial markets. Traders research the stock market to identify companies with potential investment opportunities. They may also exchange foreign stocks or currencies, or deal in commodities.
