Job Description:

Hiring Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for East Africa for our client into commodity trading.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.

- Oversee all financial operations, including monthly and annual closing processes, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, and variance analysis for revenue and expenditure.

- Ensure the accurate posting of expenses, generating detailed financial reports for consolidation and control.

- Prepare and present monthly financial and performance reports for group-level consolidation and strategic planning.

- Manage stock control processes, including monthly stock reconciliations and coordination of physical stock counts.

- Develop and execute quarterly consolidation reporting, intercompany account reconciliations, and financial statements within consolidation software.

- Establish and enforce accounting policies, methods, and principles to maintain regulatory compliance and internal standardization.

- Develop robust financial control tools, conduct tax analyses, and manage collaborations with external tax consultants.

- Ensure fiscal records and documentation of transactions are up-to-date and secure.

- Drive improvements in financial systems and procedures, proposing and initiating corrective actions where necessary.

- Collaborate with headquarters to enhance financial IT tools and maintain streamlined financial processes.

- Monitor and adapt to changing financial regulations, updating policies and procedures as required.

- Coordinate external audits, working closely with the internal audit team to identify risk areas and implement mitigation strategies.

- Embed and manage the Group's risk and compliance management framework.

- Provide strategic leadership to the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

Preferred Educational Qualification:

- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable.

Experience Requirements:

Total Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance role, ideally in a commodity trading company.

Relevant Experience: At least 5 years in the commodity trading industry, with proven experience in financial strategy and team leadership.

Skills Required:

Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations, including IFRS.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and database management.

Expertise in general ledger functions and large dataset management.

Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

Effective leadership capabilities, with a record of developing high-performance finance teams.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
