Job Description:

1. Quality Inspection of Raw Materials:

o Inspect fabrics, trims, and accessories received from suppliers to ensure they meet the required quality standards before production begins.

o Conduct tests on fabrics (e.g., shrinkage, colorfastness, tensile strength) to verify durability and compliance with buyer specifications.

 

2. In-Line Production Monitoring:

o Perform in-line inspections at various stages of the garment production process, ensuring that stitching, sizing, and construction meet quality standards.

o Monitor the quality of work being done on sewing lines, identifying potential issues early in production.

o Provide real-time feedback to production teams and work with supervisors to address defects and process deviations.

 

3. Final Product Inspection:

o Conduct a thorough inspection of finished garments to check for stitching quality, proper fit, measurements, and overall appearance.

o Ensure that the final product matches the approved samples in terms of design, fabric, color, and finishing.

o Evaluate packaging standards to ensure the garments are properly folded, tagged, and ready for shipment.

 

4. Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain detailed records of inspections, including any defects found, corrective actions taken, and quality issues resolved.

o Prepare quality control reports and share findings with the production, merchandising, and management teams for continuous improvement.

o Track and analyze quality performance data to identify trends and recommend changes to improve product quality.

 

5. Process Improvement:

o Collaborate with the production team to identify areas where quality issues frequently occur and recommend improvements to processes.

o Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality checks at every stage of production.

o Provide training and guidance to production workers on quality standards and best practices to minimize defects.

 

6. Compliance and Standards:

o Ensure compliance with industry standards, buyer-specific quality guidelines, and any regulatory requirements.

o Stay updated with industry trends, quality standards, and certifications such as ISO, AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit), and others as required.

 

7. Testing and Product Evaluation:

o Conduct tests on the durability and functionality of garments, including wash tests, stretch tests, and wear tests, to ensure that the garments will perform as expected.

o Evaluate garment fit by reviewing samples on fit models or mannequins and providing feedback on necessary adjustments.

 

8. Quality Audits and Vendor Management:

o Conduct audits of external suppliers and vendors to ensure that their production processes align with quality standards.

o Develop strong relationships with vendors to ensure the supply of high-quality materials and components.

 

9. Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:

o Investigate quality-related complaints from buyers or end customers and trace the root cause of defects.

o Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence of issues.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related field.

· In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and production processes.

· Experience with quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., AQL standards, 6 Sigma, Kaizen).

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with production teams and management.

· Ability to use measuring tools, testing equipment, and software for quality tracking and reporting.

· Familiarity with quality certification standards such as ISO 9001 and AQL 2.5/4.0.


Experience:

· 2-3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in the garment industry.

· Proven experience in conducting inspections and implementing quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

· Hands-on experience in addressing and resolving production quality issues.
