Job Description:
Position: Costing Manager
Location: Umbergaon
Experience: 10 - 12 Years
Industries: Steel
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate costing models for all products and services, ensuring full transparency in cost breakdowns.
- Perform detailed analysis of production costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead costs.
- Calculate and monitor standard costs, cost variances, and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular reviews of cost allocation methodologies to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts related to manufacturing costs.
- Assist in the preparation of cost forecasts for new products or changes in manufacturing processes.
- Analyze budget vs. actual costs, providing insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency.
- Monitor and evaluate cost trends across the manufacturing operation and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Work with the production team to identify inefficiencies, waste, and areas where cost reduction initiatives can be implemented.
- Suggest and implement cost-effective methods for reducing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
- Oversee inventory costing processes, including work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and raw materials.
- Ensure proper valuation of inventory and accurate inventory reporting, including periodic physical inventory counts.
- Work closely with the procurement and production departments to manage inventory turnover and ensure cost-effective supply chain operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on cost performance to senior management, including cost variance analysis, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review, highlighting key findings and actionable insights.
- Maintain thorough documentation of costing methodologies, calculations, and any adjustments made to cost structures.
- Serve as a liaison between finance, production, procurement, and other departments to ensure effective communication and alignment of cost-related activities.
- Provide costing expertise and support for product development, process improvement initiatives, and capital investment evaluations.
- Support the implementation and optimization of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, specifically related to cost tracking and reporting functions.
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and cost accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) to maintain the integrity of financial information.
- Assist with audits (internal and external) by providing cost-related data, documentation, and explanations as needed.
Required Skills:

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
